TSRTC STRIKE

The ongoing buzz across Telangana is the TSRTC employees strike. All the employees of rtc had come together in the name of strike on October 5, 2019.

THEIR DEMANDS:

1. Employees demand hike in their salaries and other liabilities as the hikes had been due since 2017.

2. They are protesting for the merger of tsrtc with the state government .

The Government’s stand:

The ruling government of Telangana has said that they wouldn’t recognize the strike and asked the employees to return to their duties on 5th itself. But the employees were strong and protested relentlessly taking forward the strike to 9th day today. Mr. KCR said that those who won’t join their duties would lose their jobs. The state government even announced the extension of Dasara vacation till 19th of October in view of this agitation.

Consequences of the strike:

1. People are facing severe inconvenience due to the havoc created by the sudden stoppage of buses. As this is the festival season, there will be huge need of public transportation. Buses being the major means of public transport , disappointed many people and the city remained vacant due to non availability of public transport.

2.Government appointed contract drivers for the buses and they hiked the prices as they liked without even giving tickets for the money, exploiting the public.

3.This movement served as a big advantage to private bus owners and other modes of transport.

Hope Government deals with the demands of employees with wisdom and discernment.

Article 370 of the Constitution of India

Article 370 of the Indian constitution gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir —a state in India located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent and a part of the larger region of Kashmir, which has been the subject of dispute between India,Pakistan, and China since 1947-conferring it with the power to have a separate constitution, a state flag and autonomy over the internal administration of the state. The government of India revoked this special status in August 2019 through a Presidential Order and the passage of a resolution in Parliament.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced the scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution, which provides a special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.  History In October 1947, the then Maharaja of Kashmir, Hari Singh, signed an Instrument of Accession that specified three subjects on which Jammu & Kashmir would transfer its power to the government of India: 1. Foreign affairs 2. Defence 3. Communications. In March 1948, the Maharaja appointed an interim government in the state, with Sheikh Abdullah as prime minister. In July 1949, Sheikh Abdullah and three other colleagues joined the Indian Constituent Assembly and negotiated the special status of J&K, leading to the adoption of Article 370. The controversial provision was drafted by Sheikh Abdullah.

The provisions of Article 370: Parliament needs the Jammu & Kashmir government’s approval for applying laws in the state — except in cases of defence, foreign affairs, finance, and communications. The law of citizenship, ownership of property, and fundamental rights of the residents of Jammu & Kashmir is different from the residents living in rest of India. Under Article 370, citizens from other states cannot buy property in Jammu & Kashmir. Under Article 370, the Centre has no power to declare a financial emergency in the state. It is important to note that Article 370(1)(c) explicitly mentions that Article 1 of the Indian Constitution applies to Kashmir through Article 370. Article 1 lists the states of the Union. This means that it is Article 370 that binds the state of J&K to the Indian Union. Removing Article 370, which can be done by a Presidential Order, would render the state independent of India, unless new overriding laws are made.

The joy of holidays

Finally the day arrived. Our Dasara vacation started. We spent the entire week eagerly waiting for holidays and coming to college counting the number of days to go. As a hostetler, it feels so exciting to be going to your house and visiting your parents after a long time. As this is the festive season and everyone are having holidays, we can spend some pure time with our loved ones.

The major disappointment in this season is the strike carried out by our rtc bus employees. All of us dreamt of going back on Saturday evening which turned out to be a big disappointment. All of our friends who booked tickets for buses received a message telling their buses were cancelled. With heart full of pain we postponed our travel and went on Sunday morning with alternative transportation. Finally we reached our homes with much joy, laughter and a hope of having a great time for the next week.

NEW TRAFFIC RULES-BANE OR BOON?🤔

Road safety in our country has become a major issue since the number of accidents occurring are increasing day by day. This paved way for the new traffic rules. The new traffic rules have become more strict and it’s hard to get away from these once caught. The rules are to punish people with high penalties if they violate the rules. The new penalty increased for almost 5 times the previous penalty. A scooty owner was once charged with 25000/- for violating the rules. This penalty was equal to 1/2 the price of the vehicle. People are under constant pressure of the possibility of losing their money if they step out. Whereas many of them would mend their ways and drive slowly while some may even opt for public transportation fearing the roaring penalties. This would even reduce pollution, consumption of petrol and diesel too.

Thus new traffic rules can serve as both boon and bane depending on the mentality of the owner and driver.

THE STUNT

We all know how the social media is influencing us these days . But in our childhood it was the TV which had a huge influence on us. This is a small incident which I experienced in my life and which I can never forget.

It was in the summer holidays when my relatives were in the house. I was probably in 1st standard and my cousin in 3rd standard. All of us were playing badminton in different courts while my brother was sitting on a ramp at my house. All of us were so much involved in the game and didn’t pay so much attention to him. My cousin carefully climbed a wall near that ramp and slowly climbed a tree beside the wall . Alas! My aunt shouted and all of us were shocked for a moment. All we could see was our little brother sliding down from the branch of the tree to the ground. Uff…. that was the most tensed moment in our lives. But believe me, he came down as if he came on an escalator, so calm, so happy and his expression was as if he had done something really great and is worthy of praise. By God’s grace he landed safely on the ground and he was not at all hurt!!! The first thing he said after coming down was, ” How was the jump? Did I look like spiderman?” .

That was the first time I experienced people being influenced by electronics and media. Then I came to know that anything to extremes can be dangerous. He started watching spiderman as an entertainment program and ended up putting his life in danger. Now although he stopped watching them, I think sometimes this craziness comes out involuntarily.

This will always be the scariest, funniest and adventurous memories that I’ve ever experienced.

THE ALCHEMIST-Book review

The alchemist is a fictional book beautifully written by Paul Coelho. It received the Neil’s golden book award for its numerous sales in retail market in UK. My school friend suggested me to read this book. The author narrates the story in third person. The book is about a young shepherd going on a great journey to find treasure. In the initial stages of his journey, he comes across an old man, The King of Salem. The old man gives him some valuable suggestions which help him throughout the journey. The old man tells him of something called omens. Omens are special features to predict your future. He also explained to him about the universal language. The young shepherd understood that there is no need of language to understand people’s feelings. He goes to a desert to find the twin blessing, to meet an alchemist and his fiance.

This book is of simple words woven in heavy meaning. It is an impeccable book which should be read by everyone trying to focus on their goals. It’s the smallest change that makes a huge difference in your attitudes. So here’s the book which changes your heart. This book is a must be in everyone’s book shelf. Go get yours and make a change in your life.

MY GUIDES- MY TEACHERS

India celebrates September 5th every year as teachers day. We shower the love we have for them on this special occasion. Remembering my teachers, I am ever grateful for the first teachers of my life, my mom and dad. They are the ones who taught me the simplest things in life which make a world of difference if not imbibed. They are the ones who taught me to live strong, independent life at an age when I was crying that I didn’t wanted to go to school. They were the ones who have put this wonderful personality in me by being true role models and left that legacy for me to follow. Then in my school, amidst all the wonderful teachers I came across this beautiful mentor in my life , Mounica ma’am. She was the strongest lady I saw after my mom. The way she encouraged me, the way she gave me opportunities to explore myself and the way she was a good friend to me blowed me away. I am blessed with good professors in my college too. Last but not the least , I thank GOD for being with me throughout my life as a mentor , a guide, the best teacher and my friend.

I now conclude by thanking all my teachers for their role in my life for moulding me into this person I am today. Wishing you all a very happy teachers day.

NIDARR

Nidarr is an official music video in which the song is written , composed and performed by Dino James. The rap songs of Dino has had a great impact on me.The lyrics forms the crisp of this song. Dino has written his heart out and this makes the song more and more soulful. This song is a real story which describes the pain of a struggling actor when his parents force him to become an employee in his father’s office. The boy had to put aside his dreams and work, killing his hidden inner passion . He expresses his pain that the war is between him vs what others see. The exact lyrics of this song is “I was scared of family and society. I would fight within myself only resulting in broken mirrors. Never knew if he(my inner passion) was my foe or teacher, but he eventually turned out my friend until I became fearless and rebel”. The rap portion was on point and added a kick to it. He says that through this tough circumstances, he naturally developed an attitude of not backing down. He became his own coach and the world gathered around him. He says that he is ready for the flight and he’s ready for the fight. Then he cries out his heart saying that the people can’t even imagine how many times he has failed but then he climbed the stairs one by one slowly and everything started falling in place when he became fearless. He is finally seen writing the word ‘LOSER’ in his notes. Now this loser went on to write the song LOSER which became the most viewed song of Dino James and is still ticking. His performance, intensity and his voice modulation is a top notch. I strongly recommend everyone to watch this song. Dino’s work is truly commendable.
