Success Mantras

Hey all!!! I’m gonna write a brief summary of a video I watched recently. It was a speech by the Missile man of India – Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. In the video , he discusses about how to get successful and how to deal with the failures in life.

Let me mention some points quoted by sir.

Thirst for knowledge and learning. Have an aim and goal in life. This makes you the best version of yourself and you will not be afraid to try for new things. Face challenges. There will be many challenges in life. Face them to win over them. Imagine the impossible. Work hard for that passion in your life. Have perseverance and success comes your way.

THE SIGNIFICANT INSIGNIFICANTS

The people we see in the picture are not sports persons, business magnets or some other film actors. They are common people who are financially poor but rich in heart. They’ve overcome the struggles in life and came forward to make our world a better place with the little resources they have.

Some of them are environmentalists, who planted saplings along the highways to stop the pollution to some extent. The other one is an orange seller who saved money and built an english medium school from LKG to class X.

Many people donate out of their wealth but these people donated from all they had to live on. This made them exemplary humans. Neither money nor age could kill their passion for better world.

We salute you sir and maam for opening our eyes to prove that success and recognition comes from the noblest things we do and not based o outward appearance.

Fighting cyber crimes

Cyber crime is one of the mostly used ways to commit crimes in the present world. It is an offence committed upon individuals intentionally using modern technology and telecommunications like internet, mobile etc.

WHATSAPP SNOOPING AND DATA PRIVACY

The alleged leakage of data by phone hackers and some organisational groups in order to sell the data and misuse it is called data snooping.

There are many reports of data leakage of leaders of organizations, lawyers and many activists through WhatsApp software. Few users have come out in the open and accepted the fact that their data had been leaked, snooped and misused due to their company’s connection with the Facebook chats.

Because of the pegasus software which leaked the data of many Indians, people are worried about their privacy.

The hackers try to sweep up mass data that is easy to get rather than going after individual phones. This was what Edward Snowden exposed in 2013 – the mass collection of metadata (who is calling whom, who is emailing whom) as well as emails, text messages and other data that is not encrypted and is available without any effort at all.

However, whatsapp is taking care to keep its users data encrypted so that its users can use it without the fear of their messages being hacked.

Adulting

I’ve been a big follower of the webseries-ADULTING. It has entered its second season and is running successfully. Its characters Ray and Nikhat are played by Yashaswini Dayama and Aisha Rahmed. It’s the life of two flatmates in how they tackle various issues in life.

There’s an episode in which Nikhat comes across a colleague of her, who thinks he is cool and he can speak to women however he likes. This episode shows the difference between good touch and bad touch also educating women on how to raise their voices in such situations. I feel this is a wonderful episode and many more content filled episodes should be made to give entertainment and education.

Mediocrity

In the world we live, everyone thinks that successful life is having good car, beautiful family and money to spend as you like. But, unless you go beyond these set of rules of a successful person the person is still mediocre.

Everyone is afraid of failure. Some fail to try even before failing. Many of us fall prey to the fear of failure. But you become successful only when you are willing to fail.

Success is reaching greater heights in your own way and not by bringing others down. Success should be defined in your perspective. Choose what you want to do and not what others want you to do.

THE HISTORY OF UNIVERSE

This write up is the summary of a TedX talk by Mr. David Christian on the evolution of the universe. He had briefly explained how the universe, the heavens, earth, stars and the living organisms came into being.

He said that the history of our universe was 13.7 billion years old and it started off as a small ball as small as an atom. Due to the big bang and supernova explosion, it evolved as this huge universe we have today. After 3,80,000 years of formation of the universe there were stars due to the attraction of dust particles and collision which also led to the formation of planets.

The main component for existence is the DNA. It contains information and it can self create and propagate itself. Due to DNA, there is variation in species. Due to natural disaster , all the dinosaurs disappeared 65000 years back. Homosapiens came into existence 200,000 years back.

Humans are the most complex creatures on this planet and they differ from other creatures in terms of learning, intellect and the ability to think what’s right and what’s not.

Memories that last long

Uff…….Dasara vacation has come to an end. College has given us a week but due to the strike by rtc, our holidays were extended by a week. It was an unexpected moment which was uncalled for. But this gave all of us great refreshment for the next days to come.

I’ve had a great time for the past 2 weeks. I’ve spent some quality time with my family and friends. I was charged physically, mentally and spiritually too.

With the family I’ve had endless laughs all day with good food by my mother, games with my dad and fights with my brother. We’ve gone to view the scenic beauty of yellavaram project near our place .

It’s a great experience having such time in the holidays . Wonder how I should spend the rest of the days without any of them after having such a wonderful time.

World Mental Health Day 2019

World Mental Health Day (10 October) is an international day for global mental health education and awareness against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries. The theme selected for this year’s Day is suicide prevention, and the role that everyone can play to prevent it.

Around 800,000 people die due to suicide each year worldwide, and many more attempt suicide. In the Region of the Americas, almost 100,000 people die by suicide each year. Every suicide is a tragedy that affects a family, a community or a whole country; and it has long time consequences in all those who are close to the victim. Suicide occurs in every age group, and it is the second leading cause of death in young people aged 15-29 years.

Reasons for suicide: Poverty, unemployment, depression, domestic violence, debts and educational problems are the main reasons for suicide. The recent spate of farmers’ suicide in India has raised societal and governmental concern to address this growing tragedy.

Prevention methods: Suicide prevention is a collection of efforts to reduce the risk of suicide. Beyond direct interventions to stop an impending suicide, methods may include: 1. Treating mental illness.
2. Improving coping strategies of people who might consider suicide.
3. Reducing risk factors for suicide, such as poverty.
4. Giving people hope for a better life after current problems are resolved. General efforts include measures within the realms of medicine, mental health, and public health. Because protective factors such as social support and social engagement—as well as environmental risk factors such as access to lethal means— play roles in suicide, suicide is not solely a medical or mental-health issue.

So, let us all vow to do our best to strive towards the prevention of suicides.
